About Blood Pregnancy Testing
Dairy One offers blood pregnancy testing for cows, goats, and sheep.
How does it work?
Developed by Conception Animal Reproductive Technologies, the DG29 blood pregnancy test works by detecting Pregnancy Associated Glycoproteins (PAGs), which are only present in a pregnant animal. The test is 99% accurate. For more information, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
What animals are eligible for this test?
Animals can be tested as early as 29 days post breeding and 90 days after giving birth. Blood samples from eligible animals can be submitted at any time, using either a full test kit or a tube-only test kit provided by Dairy One.
How do I start testing?
Please contact our Supply Department via phone at 800-344-2697, ext. 7540 to set up an account and order supplies.
Samples do not need to be refrigerated when shipped, but cross contamination (using one needle for more than one animal) can cause samples to coagulate. Please avoid this, as it makes testing the sample difficult.
What options are there for test kits?
Full kits include red-top blood tubes, disposable needles, needle holder, hazardous material shipping containers, shipping to the farm, and test analysis.
Tube Kits include red-top blood tubes, hazardous material shipping containers, and test analysis (needles and shipping charges to farm not included).

How do I receive results?
Results will be sent to you as indicated on the sample submission form. If an e-mail address or fax number is not provided, results will be sent via US Postal Service. Results will be automatically downloaded to Dairy Comp if a valid Dairy One herd code is provided.
When can I expect to receive results?
The lab tests blood pregnancy samples Monday through Friday, with the exception of major holidays. Once your samples arrive at the lab, you can generally expect the testing to be completed within 24 hours.
If you do not receive your results, please contact us via phone Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 4:00 pm, at 800.344.2697, or via e-mail at email@example.com. Your samples may not have arrived yet. Consider using the Dairy One transportation network for faster sample results.
How do I interpret the results?
A “Positive” result indicates that the animal is pregnant. A “Negative” results indicates that the animal is not pregnant. A “Call Us” result usually indicates that the requirements for days post breeding or after giving birth were not met. Please check the comments section of the results report for further details.
